Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21, 1983) is a famous American actress. She is most famously known for her role appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school in order to relocate in Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001 despite struggling in the financial department. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the main actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. The show ended in 2005 and Grace was keen to work on film more frequently, having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In 2007, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. In 2008, she played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace returned to Shannon's character in Lost for two episodes. This included the final episode of the series. She was in 2013 for the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). Both films were critically acclaimed. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of in 2006. The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent earned her nomination to an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). Alongside her work as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she also appeared as a character in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her most recent roles include as the main character of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a filmmaker and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also received the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
